Hey Shazia, make sure you are using fresh baking powder. If your rasmalais are doubling in size while on the flame, leave them at low flame for another 5 minutes. Shrinking of the rasmalai is usually because of the baking powder.

I was so scared of making rasmalai because my mum had tried it several times before and despite her success with gulab jamuns, rasmalai had always been a challenge. For me the one cup sugar is too sweet so I add half a cup and a little condensed milk for some richness
