hey there Jasmine! so I use Shan garam masala. It is a Pakistani brand and not very heavy on any particular spice. I also make my own at home. I can post the recipe if you like. You can use all spice too if garam masala feels too much for you.

I typically avoid this like the plague because we never used it growing up, and it all tastes very…muddy. Heavy on the cinnamon and cloves. All the garam masala that I’ve ever seen is also significantly darker than what’s shown in your photos. It’s like the color of espresso. So if you can share what brand you use, that would be really helpful. Thank you!
